This is a GEM. Tao Chilate 17th century China. The path can be the river, or a path along it, or the tracing of the sun through the sky over the shoulder of the mountain. The caves are noted for their impressive Buddhist and Lao style sculptures carved into the cave walls, and hundreds of discarded Buddhist figures laid out over the floors and wall shelves. The Sukhothai period began in the 14th century in the Sukhothai kingdom. These gatherings were frequently commemorated in paintings that, rather than presenting a realistic depiction of an actual place, conveyed the shared cultural ideals of a reclusive world through a symbolic shorthand in which a villa might be represented by a humble thatched hut.
Currently, Vietnamese lacquer paintings have proven to be quite popular.
